Bread Upma

This is breakfast for those who want something in a jiffy.

Ingredients:

  • 4 to 5 slices of white bread
  • Oil 1 tablespoon
  • Onion 1 medium size quartered and sliced
  • Mustard Seeds 1 Teaspoon
  • Curry Leaves 1 sprig
  • Turmeric Powder 1/4 teaspoon
  • Dry red chill – 1
  • Salt to taste

Steps:

  • Heat oil and add Mustard seeds, curry leaves and dry red chilli and after a minute add the onions and saute till onion is light brown.
  • Add salt, turmeric powder and saute for a minute
  • Roughly make small pieces of the bread and add to the pan, sprinkle some water and mix well.
  • Cook till the bread is slightly roasted. Check and adjust for salt. Just a pinch maybe needed.
