Life comes in a small size but makes a big impact. All you need to do is stop, take a knee and appreciate the beauty of the tiny flowers of weeds, wildflowers and ornamentals.

On the way down from Mt. Tamalpais could not stop by the road to capture the beauty of Cobwebby Thistle. I thought it was a Milk or Bull Thistle as we drove past, but it was not. The first time I saw one. Often come across Slender, Sow, Bull, Italian, Purple Star, and Milk Thistles. The Cobwebby adds to the list.

From across the San Francisco Bay Area, you can spot these beauties by paying attention and looking down once in a while for a splash of color. More importantly stopping for a closer look.

Let’s not forget the lovely Lantana, Hawthorn and many others favored by bees and butterfly alike. When I see Lantana , I just walk up to check out visitation by humming birds and butterflies.
